Very intriguing story line. Great depth to the characters. I loved Milton and his colorful senses and perception. He had the scientific mind like many geniuses but didn't lack his human emotions like others. I love their love story, very sweet, loving the person completely with the flaws. Definitely a recommend read.
The concept is interesting, a future historian with access to time travel goes back in time to research the man who discovered the science behind the technology. I wouldn't really call the book a love story, but rather a passion story. The scientist, a poor African-American young man, is exposed to the white historian in episodic visits at different moments in his life. You have to infer both parties motivations regarding their relationship. The characters seem superficial.
I am one of those people who have to know how a story ends, so I finished the book, but pretty much everything was a lobbed softball. There was one surprise that offered a somewhat satisfying ending, but otherwise I had no real connection with either character.
Wonderful and beautiful SciFi love story. The story is about physics and time travel, with all of the politics and joy involved
I loved this book. The author is an excellent writer and the characters are perfect. I plan to read everything by the author. The story is about a woman who falls in love with a man she meets at different periods of his life (using time travel). There is a side story about how a utopian society can take the life out of living.
